Maurice is 79 years old. He’s had his same shop in El Segundo since he arrived from Brazil over 4 decades ago. He surfs as much as his body still allows and works every day. “When you stop working you die.” He said to me with his fingers curled from Dupuytren while gripping a polisher. The last of his kind, and a true American.
If you’re in L.A. and need a good ding repair that also is a hell of a story teller, go see Maurice.
Summer ‘26 Director’s Cut ft. @matchullsummers . 📸
We recently worked with New Orleans raised photographer, Matchull Summers, to bring our Spring/Summer collection to life. With deep roots in the skate community, Matchull has settled in LA by way of New York, where we met him out in the water while surfing. We just loved his run-and-gun approach to photography, and Matchull has a keen eye for capturing the truth in the people he shoots and their surroundings.
We asked Matchull for some words and to pick some of his favorite images from the shoot, swipe to dive behind the lens with him.
