Iāve spent the last 3 months trying to design and print my own keyboard, here are some tips for you to help you design yours!
1- Consider your bed size and how big you can print, my designs are currently in two pieces for a 60% board.
Also donāt forget a hole to actually connect it to your pcā¦ I forgot this on a few prototypes
2- How are you going to connect them? I found that a soldering iron works well to melt the PLA together and make a tight bond, glue could also work!
3- I designed a custom plate that mounts using pressure only, let me know in the comments if this is a good idea or not!
4- Have fun with the design, a lot of keyboards look the same
Having a clear out and taking note of what silicone and 3D printed Keycap tooling I have, majority of it will be going into storage for now!
