New piece/animation alert! 👘 🐺 Ever since I was a kid I’ve always loved the aesthetics of 90s anime, and Im constantly impressed by how accurately they manage to transfer the mood and atmosphere of their scenes, so with this piece i wanted to accomplish something similar. It was also important to get a look and feel of a hand drawn cartoon, even though pretty much all of it has been animated digitally. And i have to say im happy with the end result! 😄 Focus of this one was on the overall VHS vibe and atmosphere of rainy stormy night, i hope i managed to transfer it through this piece. The colors are desaturated and different from a lot of my previous works, i feel they work really well for this setting! :) Its been so fun working on this one, and im so happy how it turned out in the end, that im thinking of making more of these. 😄 Would you guys like to see more? Quick gesture study from Posemaniacs turned into a rendering practice. Its a good exercise to try out when you are feeling under a creative block (me rn) - you are not attached to your drawing and outcome too much at the start, so its easy to experiment 🙌🏼 plus, the gestures already suggest a bit of “character” for the character. Hey guys! I made this piece as a further exploration of my Samurai Girl and Wolf characters from the animated piece i did. I’d like to develop more of a story about these characters, and do more animation around them, so they will probably evolve and change throughout the future posts as i keep polishing them 🙂 I wasnt sure at first, but I like how this one turned out, the idea was a very dark piece with a ray of light shooting at the girl. to keep her in the focus. Hey everyone! We have just finished a big animated project for ESL Berlin Major (gonna post in a few days), and in the downtime i wanted to practice painting again, since for the past few months ive been working mostly in a more flat animation friendly style 😄 Here’s a painting practice of Balanar the Night Stalker from Dota. The main idea was for me to practice painting the subsurface scattering, which is why half of his face looks like it does 😄 it doesnt make much sense when it comes to lighting in the scene, but i like the look of his teeth showing through the skin, and i feel its a valuable practice and insight for some future creature painting :) Done in Photoshop over about 1h30m, since i’ve drawn him what feels like 10000 times for the past few months i got very used to him 😄 otherwise it wouldve taken me longer for sure. So, who has watched this awesome cartoon? 😃 He-Man’s the man 💪🏽 Lately, because of work projects, I’ve been experimenting a bit and trying to see how fast I can get to a result that is decent and that I’m satisfied with. If the overall picture works, I dont mind rough parts. So on this one i spent most time on the elements that will be the main focus of the piece, while keeping other parts of the artwork simpler in rendering :) That is why i polished some parts, and on some parts i even left initial sketch lines :) I think it works and has turned out pretty cool, but let me know your thoughts in the comments 👇🏼😃 This one was really fun to make!
