@cityfathers “Make Mistakes” is out today. 2 years of Me and Tony sending these songs back and forth across the country and at times countries (unbeknownst to both for us we started working on this record while I was in the Philippines and he was in Wisconsin. The first video is of my setup there.) we have only ever met once in person, for a three day session at the lab in Charleston Sc. The process of the record looked something like , Tony would mock up the songs in logic , send them nearly complete or as rough ideas and I would add anything he ask me to try out, then the files would go back and forth until the songs felt right. The deeper meaning behind the record always resonated with me, it was honestly empowering to see someone channeling a hard situation into art, that is really one of the strongest things a person can do . The reason I still love doing this after all these years is really to help people bring a vision to life, completing something like this really does lift an unspoken part of the soul out of a person and it’s freeing in a way to finally see it complete . Some events in our lives come through like a tidal wave, and after it shows up nothing is quite the same. Since Meeting Aly my life feels forever changed. Her love is an akin to force of nature. Although so much more naturing and compassionate but just as altering and massive . I want to wish the happiest of birthdays to the woman that’s forever changed me , and continues to do so into the man I want to be. To the woman that lights up every room, that I call my partner , the mayor, baby chicken, gidget and pesos mama, fearless , and so much else. Happy birthday to you my love .
