I make videos for a living, so if I didn't make one for my band, I'd have to look in the mirror every day and call myself a lazy piece of shit.
New @shockwithdrawal track just dropped. Full-length is out 3/15 via @brutalpandarecords .
Thank you for listening!
I just want to express how thankful I am for everyone that made Barren Path's first round of live performances a possibility. First and foremost, my stupidly talented band mates for trusting me to book the entire tour myself, and for agreeing to fly over to LA, practice only once, and then start a tour the very next day. Truly an absurd idea when you think about all of the work that went into being able to play 22 minutes every night, hahaha. We also managed to write and record an entire new EP leading up to this, since we didn't have enough material for a set (Bryan, Rory and Mauro recorded live together in Miami. Takafumi and myself recorded separately in different studios where we live) Maximum dedication from everyone involved in this project.
Secondly, the awesome promoters and bands that we had the honor of working with. My only goal was to book shows with friends, or friends of friends that understand the genre and the lifestyle, and to be able to share the stage (surprisingly no floors on this run) with bands that we would genuinely enjoy watching and hanging out with. This was an absolute success and every show ruled.
And lasty, everyone that showed up, raged, and hung out with us. We sold out of practically all of our merch even after re-upping for NW Terror Fest (which was a blast and is run by some of the nicest people ever).
New music coming soon when we figure out the fine details. We'll do another short tour in 2027.
Blast beats forever.

Someone was kind enough to film the entire Barren Path set from last weekend, and they uploaded it to YouTube.
We played mostly new stuff that's not out yet. Glad this was documented. Good times.

Much thanks to everyone who helped put these shows together. This was all a DIY endeavor and we are grateful to be performing with a bunch of really sick bands and friends. More details regarding individual shows to be announced in the very near future.
Hyperblasting west coast sonic guttural attack imminent. Onwards with visceral ferocity and positive aggression.
Absolutely crushed to hear you are gone, my friend. My heart sank when I received the news over the phone last night.
Gerrity was such a charming wonderful human. His absurd sense of humor would never fail to make you burst into laughter, and he had a heart of gold. He was a true loyal friend, one that you could always count on. His love for underground metal was profound and he chose to be as involved as possible for the majority of his life.
20 or so years ago, he would jump in vans and sell friend’s merch in the most low budget shoe-string DIY tour scenarios just to get out of town and be involved the scene. It was awesome to see him figure it out years later and start tour managing, driving bigger bands and doing it on a professional level.
In life it’s hard to figure out how to make ends meet in a way where you feel like you aren’t selling your soul, and Gerrity never sold out. He chose rock n roll to the very end. Truly committed to the lifestyle of being on the road most of the year, which is something the majority of us are not cut out for. He was a true road warrior. I always looked forward to the next time that we would run into each other, and in true friendship fashion: just roast each other endlessly in the most loving way, hahaha.
I still can’t believe he is gone, especially because the last couple of times we spent time together he was sober, being health conscious, and in overall great spirits. I am crushed that his life trajectory ended earlier that it should have when it seemed like he had such a bright future ahead. I will miss him dearly.
The next time you go play live, or write a riff, or even just listen to a record, do it hard as hell. It’s what Gerrity wants.
Rest in peace, Andrew Gerrity. Love you, man.
