I’d like to start off first by saying how legitimately proud I am of this team. At the start of the year I was unsure if that was something I really wanted to bring back for this brand. Over the last two months these guys all proved I made the right decision.
I watched them hustle with nothing but excitement over the short window of time I gave them to pull this video off. All of them, every single one, delivered.
Much of this video would not be possible without @mr_scarz , who helped these guys behind the camera as the weather changed to work against them.
I’d also like to, once again, shoutout the original Semi-Chub Crew. This is a brotherhood which predates the hobby for all of us. Semi-Chub doesn’t exist without them. The reason it took so long for me to introduce myself to the scene was because I always had them, and couldn’t really ask for more. They’re technically my first customers, even though I don’t make them pay for anything <3
Lastly, to the whole NYC fingerboarding scene. Thank you for your endless support. I’m happy to have you as my home base.
There was some chatter a while back about the nature of the community in our neck of the woods. I seek nothing but to dispel, dispute and bury those claims. Throughout this process, I witnessed drive, dedication and improvement from every last one of these individuals, in a manner that was raw, genuine and with the intent to elevate each other. To me, THAT is representative of the NYC scene as a whole.

Also (somewhat) new is the ‘09 Yogurt Slinger, pairing the ‘09 mold with the Yogurt Slinger shape originally featured on the Super-Chub mold. I didn’t feel like painting those so I’m giving you a marker with them so you can draw whatever you’d like.

I’d been thinking about a new mold since January, while putting together the drop for Vous/FB Con. By that point I was exclusively using the ‘09 Special for a few months, and I knew that my affection for that shape would influence how I looked at boards moving forward.
The Semi-Chub features the same modest profile as the ‘09, translated to a shorter and wider board. The result is, in my opinion, the most mellow feeling board in the current lineup. I’ve done away with the aggression of the original mold, the square nose and super-stubby tail. This shape was designed with a gradual taper towards the nose and tail, while retaining a subtle boxiness. Truck placement psychology is similar to that of the ‘09, close to the kicks to accommodate wheelbase variety.
The new Semi-Chub will replace both the original Semi-Chub & Semi-Chub Low molds going forward.
