Meet Peta, From interior design to manufacturing, Peta now serves as SHAPE’s Business Development Manager for Tasmania. Originally from South Australia, she moved to Hobart in 2025. We were fortunate to have Peta share her story at Tuesday’s Built Environment Industry Tasmania event as part of our “Hello from the other side” panel. Her journey reflects the changing face of the building and construction industry, and the range of perspectives shaping our future. It’s a story we’re seeing more often across Tasmania, with people entering the sector from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. And it’s exactly this mix of experience and perspectives that strengthen the industry.

Meet Lisa. A one-time jockey, and town planner, Lisa here found her calling in our industry at The Young Group Tasmania. And she’s not looked back since! We were lucky to have Lisa share her story at our Built Environment Industry Tasmania event today. Lisa’s story is one we see replicated throughout building and construction in Tasmania. A story of someone coming to the sector with a whole host of different life experiences. And we’re a much stronger industry for it.
