Are you sure you know what a “full-stack engineer” really means in the age of AI? Today, this role goes far beyond web and infrastructure expertise. It increasingly involves machine learning (ML) and AI-powered development. This insight came from the Tech Hot Topic: The AI-Adapted Workforce panel discussion hosted by Mass Technology Leadership Council and CarGurus. Evgen Temchenko, VP of Enterprise Engineering, represented NIX. The speakers shared experiences on AI adoption in software development, how AI is redefining engineering roles, and what it takes to enable efficient human-AI collaboration. The discussion also covered real-world examples of AI-driven workflows and the evolving skill sets required for today’s engineers. Many thanks to the organizers and the moderator for guiding the discussion, as well as to fellow speakers.

Let’s keep it that way: stay, build, connect.

We recently joined Tom Bartley of Invest Northern Ireland for a conversation with Andy Beck, CEO and Co-founder of PathAI, at PathAI’s Boston office—complete with sweeping views of the city skyline and Fenway.⚾ This conversation stemmed from MTLC’s awards program earlier this year, where Andy was recognized in the CEO of the Year category and PathAI’s Christina Jayson, Ph.D. was named a Rising Star. With INI as a program sponsor, it was a great opportunity to bring two leaders together to talk about AI, global growth, and the future of digital pathology. This session dove deep into how tech organizations are stepping into a more strategic role — balancing execution with leadership, managing tech debt, translating complexity, and driving alignment across teams. A big theme throughout: change management. How do we bring people along as tech evolves? And increasingly — how do we prepare for a world where AI isn’t optional, it’s mandated? Read the recap using the ‘blog’ link in bio!
