Last week, the California Masonic Foundation joined educators, youth‑serving nonprofits, and community leaders at the #SanFrancisco Community Partners Reception at Oracle Park.
Together, we celebrated the power of collaboration and explored new ways to support students, strengthen local schools, and expand opportunities across our communities. Moments like these remind us why partnership matters. When organizations committed to education and community well‑being come together, we can create meaningful impact.

An incredible weekend at the 2026 Leadership Retreat in Palm Springs.
From meaningful workshops and leadership discussions to fellowship with outstanding Brethren from across the jurisdiction, this retreat was both productive and inspiring. Grateful for the opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and strengthen the bonds of our fraternity.
Proud to represent KAP 888 alongside our Brethren as we continue striving to improve ourselves and our lodge.

The spirit of Scotland is reflected in the lodge attire at Prometheus № 851. Members dress in traditional #Highland dress, and their lodge kilt is even customized with a tartan pattern imbued with local symbolism, with stripes of gray and “International Orange” to signify the #BayArea’s famous fog and the painted steel of the Golden Gate Bridge.
“To see the members walking together, it’s impressive,” says Hal Wilkes, who helped design the lodge kilt. Wilkes, who is even designated as the lodge pipe major. “There’s a lot of pride and everybody enjoys it.”

Beginning in the 1860s, as Masonry was taking off in #SanFrancisco, several Masonic goods retailers popped up downtown offering lodge furnishings, #Masonic regalia, costumes, and more.
One of the largest of these was Daniel Norcross Masonic Goods, a member of Oriental № 144. He certainly wasn’t the only one in the business: The Johnson T. Rogers Masonic Goods Co. set up stakes in the 1860s, while AJ Plate and Co. Masonic Goods hawked its wares nearby. CF Weber and Co. came in the 1910s, while a West Coast outpost of the Henderson-Ames Lodge Paraphernalia Co. formed in 1920. In the 1940s, ABC Emblem & Pennant Co. was similarly advertising Masonic regalia.

As forty-odd undergrads, all dressed in suits and ties, lined up in neat rows for their fraternity’s annual photo, the cracks in their smiles were already starting to show. Similar scenes have no doubt played out countless times at #CalAcacia, the historically Masonic fraternity at UC Berkeley that first launched in 1905.
No longer a strictly Masonic organization, Acacia Fraternity (@AcaciaHQ ) retains a distinct, if symbolic, connection to #Freemasonry—in fact, UC Berkeley's fraternity is the longest-running chapter of the national group. While today the Masons don’t have as much of a presence on college campuses, Acacia Fraternity is a reminder of a time when they most decidedly did: All told, there have been Acacia chapters at 95 universities, and 24 remain active today.

More than just a shirt, the barong is one of the most recognizable symbols of the #Philippines. That’s why the members of @Kapayapaan_At_Pagkakaisa_888 dive deep in researching and sourcing lodge barongs. Members learned about fabrics like jusi, silk, and even pineapple and banana leaf fibers, which give barongs the look for which they are famous. Each has a special meaning, and even the shirt’s colors can be symbolic.
“The green and white colors symbolize peace, harmony, and unity among brethren,” says lodge master Julio Reyes. "The sunburst design draws inspiration from the Philippine flag, representing heritage and the enduring light of Freemasonry carried by #FilipinoAmerican Masons. These elements represent not only our cultural roots but also the universal Masonic principles of brotherhood, unity, and harmony that connect lodges across jurisdictions.”
