Mashreq to represent the UAE in SWIFT Standards Release 2027.
We are pleased to share that Mashreq has been selected to represent UAE banks at the SWIFT Payments Standards Working Group (PSWG) for SWIFT Standards Release 2027.
Viji Varghese, Head of Global Payments and Clearing, who has represented Mashreq on the SWIFT UAE Banks Federation Board for over 8 years, has now been unanimously chosen by UAE banks to represent them at the SWIFT PSWG meetings.
This recognition reflects the trust placed in Mashreq’s expertise and leadership in shaping the future of global payments.

يسرنا أن نعلن عن اختيار المشرق لتمثيل البنوك الإماراتية لدى مجموعة العمل التي تتولى معايير مدفوعات سويفت (PSWG) ضمن إصدار معايير سويفت 2027. وقد تم اختيار فيجي فارغيز، رئيس قسم المدفوعات والمقاصة العالمية، والذي قام بتمثيل المشرق في مجلس اتحاد مصارف الإمارات لمستخدمي سويفت لأكثر من ثماني سنوات، وذلك بإجماع البنوك الإماراتية لتمثيلها خلال اجتماعات مجموعة العمل التي تتولى معايير مدفوعات سويفت.

معالي عبدالعزيز الغرير، رئيس مجلس إدارة المشرق: "حقق المشرق أداءً قوياً خلال الربع الأول، مسجلاً إيرادات بلغت 3.4 مليار درهم إماراتي، وعائداً على حقوق المساهمين بنسبة 20%، ما يعكس قوة وتنوع نموذج أعماله، وأدائه المستدام عبر مجموعة واسعة من الأسواق وشرائح العملاء."
أحمد عبد العال، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة المشرق: "اتسم الربع الأول من عام 2026 ببيئة تشغيلية معقدة ومتغيرة، حيث أولينا اهتماماً لتعزيز الشفافية والوضوح، وضمان استمرارية الأعمال لعملائنا في مختلف أنحاء المنطقة. وعلى الرغم من هذه التحديات، نجح المشرق في تحقيق صافي ربح قبل الضريبة بلغ 2.3 مليار درهم إماراتي، فيما ساهم الدخل من غير الفوائد بنسبة 41% من إجمالي الإيرادات، ما يعكس تزايد قوة وتنوع نموذج الأعمال، وارتكازه على نشاط العملاء."

Mashreq delivers double-digit growth across revenue, assets, loans and deposits in Q1 2026, underpinned by robust liquidity and uninterrupted operations across all channels, with AED 3.4 billion in revenue, 20% ROE and industry-leading asset quality.
