Year 2 Millinery optional module- Frankenstein inspired bonnet.
The entire bonnet is hand felted characters from the 2025 Netflix adaptation of Frankenstein. The crown of the bonnet is felted to look like pieces of skin patched together.
Never have I ever undertaken a project as large as this using needle felting, in fact itâs only the second time Iâve ever tried it. Though it definitely had its ugly stages and points where I thought I should just give up, the portraits turned out better than originally expected. Elizabethâs portrait being my favourite.
I canât even comprehend the amount of hours and sleepless nights that went into this but itâs safe to say I will be sleeping for at least a week to catch up on those Zzzzzzz.

Rogues, vagabonds and thieves final piece.
Iâd like to introduce my 16 year old ragamuffin!
I made the breeches from scratch, all other items were sourced second hand and broken down for this project.
A fun module to end the year! Thanks to Ash for being my fabulous model.
Made this sunny đ 1940s day-dress for my formative uni project.
First time properly pattern drafting, fitting and making a garment for someone who isnât myself.

âSnowed in at Newsteadâ
Our first project done and dusted.
Hand in is tomorrow 11am sharp.
My cloak inspired but the poet Lord Byronâs pet bear! Made sustainably using second hand material with as little waste as possible :)
Sneak peak at my first proper project for uni! For this brief we are creating clothing that will be worn by the members of the public at Newstead Abbey. The idea is for them to be able to dress up as lord Byron and his friends.
I spent the lecture draping my design on a half-scale mannequin, which I will go on to scale up to create the pattern for my final design.
