In my painting, the body fills the space by declaring its presence. I am interested in subtle tension in a body, shaped by control and vulnerability . 120/100 paper on canvas … title “Presence” #masharudenko #paperoncanvas

«From a Blank Slate» 200 x 140 cm. I dedicate this work to internal and external processes. What’s inside, so is it without. Have you ever thought about it? Have you ever experienced it? The pieces of paper are assembled like a puzzle: only by stepping back can you see the big picture . Our internal processes are invisible to anyone but ourselves—they’re like invisible scars. We are constantly reassembling our self-awareness and self-definition. Looking and feeling through ourselves is the true way to understand the world. The body always brings us back from the eternally wandering mind. I remind myself again and again of the meaning of the body and explore the world through it.

The project “be/coming home” by Masha Rudenko explores identity as a fragile, constantly changing process, especially in feminine self-perception. Identity is not fixed but an ongoing event involving internal and external shifts that often clash. Women face pressure from societal stereotypes and external judgments, which can overshadow their inner self-awareness. Rudenko focuses on the nude figure not as an object for viewers but as a subject reflecting introspective self-view, revealing vulnerability and the struggle for self-acceptance. Her work portrays the act of “coming home” as a return to oneself, where the individual becomes their own refuge and comfort amid identity’s challenges. @askerigallery till 16th of January, Moscow ❤️🎨

“The view that the person in Masha’s paintings has - a view that has its weaknesses, its own vulnerability - belongs not to the viewer, but to the person depicted. Now it is not the viewer who admires the naked nature, but the personalized living nature is aware of himself and - experiencing the same difficulties with self-acception, familiar to contemporaries - reveals itself sincerely. The person before our eyes performatively reproduces the return home, return to herself, at the same time embodying the home, becoming a shelter, a refuge, comfort for herself.” Paper on canvas #collage #masharudenko #art

Identity is a fragile and fluid structure, constantly reassembled both internally and externally, but internal and external changes do not always coincide. Masha Rudenko’s project explores the intersection of internal self-perception and external appearance. Reassembling oneself is inevitable and often traumatic, especially in the female experience, where external evaluation strongly influences self-esteem. The female nudity in her works does not reproduce the consumerist gaze, but rather reveals an introspective perception of the self-model, with its vulnerability and desire for self-acceptance. Rudenko’s characters performatively return to themselves, becoming their own home and refuge. “Secret garden “ 120/100 paper on canvas . New series of work at @askerigallery
