There’s a new little pixie in the world and his name is Berin David John Lintott! Born 26.4.26 at UCLH by c-section (which I’ll be recovering from for some time still, apparently caesareans are incredibly brutal?!?). He’s beautiful and has perfect ears and we can’t wait to see what sort of person he’ll become! Xx

The new album is officially out today! It’s been a long journey through archives, manuscripts, and the extraordinary life of the superstar castrato Nicolini. The music includes a few of your favourite Handel arias, of course, but recording nine arias that haven’t been heard for 300 years was also a real joy 🎶🎶
I’m so grateful to have made this recording with some really remarkable people: the marvelous soprano Mary Bevan, the always kind and ever-inspiring conductor Laurence Cummings, and all of the very talented and enthusiastic musicians of the Academy of Ancient Music. Their artistry, curiosity, and good humour vividly brought all of this to life.

Oh yeah forgot to add, I sometimes have TERRIBLE acid reflux (worse than first trimester) so I’m now back on the Gaviscon Advance. Only Advance will do, the others won’t touch the sides. And also I’ve been doing a Pregnancy Pilates course with @gracehurrypilates which I believe has helped A LOT. Might do another post on that later… #theoryofflames #pregnancy #performing

Tonight, soprano Mary Bevan (@marycbevan ) stars in the world premiere of Michel van der Aa's new film opera 'Theory of Flames' at Dutch National Opera.
In what will also be her house debut at Dutch National Opera, Mary will sing the role of Neola in a story that explores pressing themes such as disinformation and conspiracy theories.

A few little moments from these past few weeks of rehearsals for Michel van der Aa’s amazing new opera #theoryofflames at Amsterdam’s @nationaleoperaballet , in which I play Neola, the somewhat intense film director who gets caught up in conspiracy theories online… this silly app has chopped some people out of photos but they’re all lovely; cast is @aphrodite_patoulidou (also Neola for 2 shows), @helencharlston and Roddy Williams, plus @_juliabullock on-screen. @elenaschwarzmusic conducts, with a luxury assistant in @leonardelschenbroich . Michel himself directs, also with his luxurious assistant @avephotos . Being quite heavily pregnant has been interesting but just shows, if you ask your body to work hard for you, it’ll do it! And if the baby comes out singing Michel van der Aa, I’m fine with that!
Out today! Handel’s electrifying duet from Amadigi, ‘Crudel, tu non farai’, recorded with the wonderful soprano Mary Bevan. This isn’t your typical Valentine’s Day love duet! 💔 It’s a moment of emotional confrontation between the hero Amadigi and the sorceress Melissa, whose unrequited love drives her to fury.
⚡Divine Impresario: Nicolini on Stage⚡ will be released next month! Nicolini was one of opera's first true international stars and a central figure in the rise of Italian opera in London. I’m so grateful to have collaborated once again with Laurence Cummings and the AAM on this special project.
