No Christmas without Christ, We Celebr8 because he came. This year, my default prayer has been : Thank you for your kindness to me and all humanity. Thank you Jesus. First Christmas as a Lagosian in over 18 years

First time experiencing fatherhood. I remember the day in JSS1 when it really dawned on me that I had no father. My father was alive but I had no memory of him. I was crying alone just by the main hall at Dansol. No one knew why but I had this heavy feeling : “No one wants me” I believe that was the first time I heard God respond to me clearly : I’m your father. Ever since, God has taken care of me. I look back at my life at various points and see that God has always been there for me. 5 months into fatherhood myself, I spoke to one of my mentors and he echoed what I’m convinced is my number one role as a father : To handover my children to their real father (God). Last week, I visited Dansol and saw the same spot and remembered. My job is to diligently prepare Nation and hand her over to her real father. Everything else I do is a dramatisation of How God fathers me. My baby isn’t aware of how much I love her today but at every point in time, I’m constantly anticipating her present and future needs. Learning on the job daily. But no matter how much I do, it will in no way compare to what her real father does and will do for her all through her life. The real experience of fatherhood is remembering how God fathers us.
