Rapper Marv P is dropping W.I.A.W.I. (Was It All Worth It) this April on streaming services, but you can purchase the album now directly through him, and after getting an early listen and pulling up to the release party, I can confidently say this is one of the most intentional projects I’ve heard this year.
This album feels like a real timestamp of his journey… not just as an artist, but as a person. It touches on the sacrifices, the distance from family, the mental weight, and that constant question we all ask ourselves while chasing something bigger… is it all worth it?
What really stood out to me is the storytelling and the structure. The sequencing is done so well, everything flows the way it’s supposed to. The intro, “Rather Love,” is a different sound for him but it sets the tone perfectly and creates the palette for the rest of the album.
Standouts for me are “Ball” ft. Intalek, “Road,” “With You,” and “Trim.” Each one brings something different to the table, and the features actually feel like they belong instead of being forced. The production, the vulnerability, the relatability… it all connects.
And y’all already know, if I don’t feel the need to skip a single track, that says everything. This is one of those projects you just let play all the way through.
10/10. Marv P really did his thing on this one and gave us a body of work that reflects growth, purpose, and real life.
