Random find the other day whilst looking for an old clip. I’ve not seen this footage before so alway nice to see old clips pop up, Think this was from The Bike Show in the NEC around 2000 🎥 Clicked BMX
Each time we visit @vans_hb it for my daughter skating and it’s skate only normally so I’ve spent MANY hours looking at this Vans sign and wanted to get this done one day.
Had a super fun session for BMX day today and stoked to get this done. 📹 @lola_t_
@outofdatebmx footage from one of the old Bike Shows in the NEC, these events were always rad and BMX was pushing into a new Progressive era with every event so much new stuff was going down and the style of Bmx was changing rapidly.
I remember the process of learning this trick and the Journey up to doing this on a subrail. I first thought up the idea of trying a half barspin out of a fufanu at PlayStation in London before flying out to Germany and that lead on to a full bar out the same session, then I got the half bar out of a 3 tap over a volcano at the Worlds in Cologne. I then wanted to get the full bar and wanted it on a double coping spin. I was shooting a full interview for @rideukbmx 20 years ago with Lard when I was 18 years old and I remember trying it and pulling it for a sequence shot on the last roll of film on the last go of the day. After this I started taking it on to other obstacles and in the early 2000’s subrail were at pretty much most events so only seemed right to get this done. Always loved the feeling of this trick and it felt rad to progress it on to new things over the years.
@driptray.studio posted this one yesterday. Published in @rideukbmx 20 years ago 🤯
If I could sum up my best memories/times in BMX in 1 photo this would %100 be it, when I look at this photo I see countless hours/weeks/years in the woods with the best crew, freedom, creativity in one of the most special places I could of ever hoped for when I first walked into what started as an abandoned empty overgrown Quarry.
Thank you Steve for your vision and for capturing a huge part of my life in that one moment. Photo of a lifetime 🙏🏼❤️
I posted this awhile back ( @l.eemartin angle maybe ? ) @mounthawke Easter Jam 2011 and you can see @ryanhallett.co.uk coming into the shot filming, nice to see this actually angle now, thanks Ry 👊🏼
