Siamo felici di annunciare che la vincitrice della Gail Cochrane Fellowship 2026 è Martina Laruffa (@martiuffa )! La Gail Cochrane Fellowship è nata dal desiderio della famiglia di Gail e di Almanac di continuare a sostenere la sperimentazione e la ricerca artistica, mantenendo vivo l’impegno e l’energia con cui Gail Cochrane ha accompagnato il lavoro di artistə emergenti. Artista visiva la cui pratica si muove tra film, pittura, disegno e installazione, Martina Laruffa sviluppa una ricerca che indaga i modi in cui percepiamo il mondo, giocando al confine tra realtà e immaginazione. Il suo lavoro intreccia riferimenti provenienti da scienza, filosofia, folklore, spiritualità e letteratura, affrontando l’atto della narrazione come una ricerca sul linguaggio come materia fisica, qualcosa che può essere modellato, stratificato, vissuto a livello sensoriale. Martina ci raggiungerà a Torino nei mesi di settembre e ottobre 2026 per sviluppare la sua ricerca durante un periodo di residenza nei nostri spazi 💫 - We are happy to announce that the recipient of the 2026 Gail Cochrane Fellowship is Martina Laruffa (@martiuffa )! The Gail Cochrane Fellowship was born from the desire of Gail’s family and Almanac to continue supporting artistic experimentation and research, keeping alive the commitment and energy with which Gail Cochrane supported the work of emerging artists. A visual artist whose practice moves across film, painting, drawing, and installation, Martina Laruffa develops a body of research that investigates the ways we perceive the world, playing at the boundary between reality and imagination. Her work weaves together references drawn from science, philosophy, folklore, spirituality, and literature, approaching storytelling as an exploration of language as a physical material — something that can be shaped, layered, and experienced on a sensory level. Martina will join us in Turin during September and October 2026 to further develop her research through a residency period in our spaces 💫

Very excited to share that “What goes up comes around” (2023) is now part of the Korte Film Poule catalogue and distributed in The Netherlands by @eye_film “A lecture by an ambiguous character who, in a mix of rhymes, skipped thoughts, stories, repetitions and real facts, and with the use of props to illustrate his points, questions the concept of objectivity. By playing with forms of knowledge transmission in the Western world, it questions the way we perceive and understand the world around us.”

I’m super excited to share that my short film ‘The whirling quest of Giovannina’ got selected to be part of Rialto for Short!!! It’s gonna be screened at Rialto de Pijp on the 1st of November at 21.00. There is gonna be some Q&A and a winner will be announced!
