From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the support you have shown since we shared the devastating loss of our founder, dear friend, and colleague, Per MÄrs. This is a very painful time, and we can only move forward by focusing on what matters most.
Mental health, especially in hockey, cannot be ignored. We are very committed to raise awareness and drive initiatives around mental health. This focus is necessary for us to heal and carry on Perâs vision.Â
In honor of Perâs legacy and passion, we will keep developing Marsblade and advancing the technology. For us, that means continuing the path he believed in, helping players to reach their full potential and, ultimately, setting a new standard.Â
We will be here for each other, and we encourage everyone to check in on your teammates. If you or someone close to you is struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or seek professional support. You are not alone.
Together, we will find ways to move forward.
It is with deep sadness to share that Marsbladeâs founder and our dear, Per MĂ„rs, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, March 13. After struggling with mental health challenges, he died by suicide.
Per was an incredibly caring and respected person, leader, a friend to so many, and a passionate innovator. He believed strongly in supporting and inspiring others, whether by being there for those closest to him or through his passion for hockey. He never stopped striving to move the sport forward while also showing up for the people he loved.
Through Marsblade, Per changed how players develop their skating. His vision and passion built something that will have a lasting impact on the sport.
We will honor Per by continuing the work he believed in.Â
We kindly ask the hockey community to keep Perâs family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts, and to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
We also want to acknowledge the importance of mental health. If you or someone close to you is struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or seek professional support. You are not alone.
With love,Â
The Marsblade family and Perâs family
