Jeff Feld’s invented, minimalist island of Feldwood transports its audience into a tropical, still space that is at once childlike and naive, holy in its fetishizing of the pathetic object and rooted in place.

Jeff Feld getting it done and installed with his trusted companion, Bonita. Feld’s solo exhibition, “When I Stopped in Feldwood, New York”’ opens this Saturday, April 11, 5-7pm.
Feldwood, New York isn’t a place on a map. It is a condition that forms as a life and place shape each other. It is not somewhere you can go, but a name for the relationship between the artist and where he lives. The works are material outcomes of that relationship, not representations of it.
We hope you can join us at the opening reception as we embark on our tenth season showing exceptional art from around the globe.

MARQUEE PROJECTS is thrilled to begin our 10th season with a solo exhibition by multimedia artist Jeff Feld titled: “When I Stopped in Feldwood, New York.” We invite you to attend the opening reception on Saturday, April 11, from 5–7 PM.
Feldwood, New York isn’t a place on a map. It is a condition that forms as a life and a place shape each other. It is not somewhere you can go, but a name for the relationship between the artist and where he lives. The works are material outcomes of that relationship, not representations of it.
The pieces emerge from Ridgewood, Queens, where the artist resides. The exhibition constructs Feldwood as a parallel site, a condition in which a life folds into a place, and a place folds back into a life. This fluidity between sites does not resolve into a single location. The works do not depict Feldwood. They assemble it.
Through collage and sculpture, belonging becomes material. Collage operates through adjacency and rupture; fragments held together without seamless resolution. Sculptural forms negotiate weight, imbalance, and contingency. Materials are cut, joined, braced, and held in tension. A place forms through accumulation and adjustment rather than fixed identity.
The exhibition holds open the relationship between private
experience and public environment, between lived space and imagined proximity. Attachment here is built, but never fully fixed. It is made rather than given, yet still deeply felt.
