One not-so-small step for us, one giant leap for your taste buds.
We’ve added amazing guest roasters to our shelves and we’re a tad excited.
Enjoy them, gift them, brew the life out of them. This is us now so stay tuned 💅🏼
Same coffee, different hours.
Also, we’re feeling generous this festive period: buy two drinks, get exactly two drinks. You’re most welcome 🙂‍↕️
Not every cup needs to be serious. Sometimes, comfort wins. Pumpkin spice, toffee nut, gingerbread, salted caramel - they’re all back. Remember, this is a safe space. And we won’t tell anyone.
I opened Marna in April 2024, after walking away from a 12-year corporate career. I didn’t even know what a portafilter was back then (it’s the handled thing you pull espresso shots with). I didn’t have a plan. I just knew I wanted a new life.
Fast forward to last Monday. I am sitting in a room full of industry giants. People who’ve been to this award ceremony for years, Michelin star collaborators, multi-award winners. And me, quietly recording the announcements on my phone, hoping Marna might at least get a “commended” mention.
When we didn’t, my heart sank.
And then they announced the winner.
Best Independent Coffee Shop in South West London & Surrey.
It was Marna.
I froze. I mumbled and stopped recording. My hands were shaking. I stood there not knowing what to do while my heart tried to physically punch its way out of my chest. And then I was on stage, being hugged by @leyla.kazim , trying to process what had just happened while a room full of people watched, probably wondering who on earth I was.
To some, this might feel like just a local award. And to be honest, I hadn’t even heard of @timeandleisure before opening Marna. But this? This means everything. Because I know how hard I’ve worked. Because I know how much of myself I’ve poured into this.
To my team: you are the heartbeat of Marna.
To my customers: you showed up and made my wildest dream come true. Every day. Every single minute between 7.30am and 5pm.
Thank you.
(📸 And @olliegmonk - you absolute legend, crazy talented, secret cheerleader. What you captured means more than you know.)

This is Marna in Kingston. This was a really lovely, open place, on the end of a very busy high street. The inside felt like a breath of fresh air. Glass around the whole shop front invited beautiful natural light which helped make this place feel super open and inviting, just like the staff did. The place had a bunch of seats and an overall nice vibe, nice for a work from home day. But the star of the show in this place was the beautiful custom, sage green La Marzocco, accompanied by matching mugs, which was a super cute touch. Now, onto my coffee. This was a pretty nice Flat White! Very creamy, decently balanced, an allround solid cup. They also had a lot of Matcha drinks on the menu, which I didn’t get to try this time round, but all looked very good. Marna is a great choice if you’re in the area and want a really solid, decently balanced cup of coffee. Go check it out and let me know what you think! That’s all I have, bye!

Our green La Marzocco’s still slaying, but this one’s for the filter heads: we’re officially upping our pour-over game.
Featuring some standout beans by @assemblyroast - semi-washed Colombian Geishas, natural DR Congolese Bourbons, and a rotating lineup that changes every few weeks.
Come try what’s currently on, and yes, we still have the iced strawberry matcha x
One year old.
1000+ dice rolls.
Hundreds of shameless singers.
Queues out the door. Cheers, claps, grown introverts singing at the top of their lungs. Flowers. Bottles of champagne. Cards.
Zero chill.
Marna turned one. And you, you absolute legends, made it the best birthday party we could have ever dreamed of.
You rolled with us, sang with us, lost your dignity with us.
You turned a tiny coffee shop into a giant, messy, magical celebration.
We love you. And we mean it.
Thank you for making Marna more than just a coffee shop.
(And if you rolled a 1 and belted out Happy Birthday… you’re a part of Marna forever now. No take-backs. But PLEASE no more singing until next year because the team is threatening to quit.)
Everybody is a mother. Every person who has ever loved something fiercely, protectively, relentlessly is a mother. Every cook, every poet, every artist is a mother.
Mothers are the ones who make something out of nothing. Who shape futures and nurture dreams. Who plant seeds and wait, knowing that love takes time to bloom.
I am Marna’s mother. I built her, I worry for her, I celebrate her, I fight for her. And if you’ve ever created, cared for, or loved something more than yourself, then, whether or not the world calls you one, you are a mother, too.
Happy Mother’s Day.
“What’s that green stuff?” It’s matcha, babes.
A concentrated, powdered form of green tea leaves. Once reserved for sacred tea ceremonies... now often served with vanilla syrup and strawberry puree (sorry, Japan).
Unlike coffee, matcha gentle-parents you through your day, stroking your hair and whispering, “You’ve got this.” This green powerhouse delivers smooth, sustained energy for 7–8 hours - no jitters, no mid-meeting crashes.
If coffee’s not your cup of tea, don’t stress. Marna serves ceremonial-grade matcha. Served hot? It’s like lying in sun-warmed grass on a lazy afternoon. Iced? A cannonball into a pool of antioxidants.
Whether you’re ready to ditch your coffee for a trendier model, or never vibed with it at all, come try our matcha.
(Calm down coffee purists, our green La Marzocco is still here, quietly judging you.)
