little bit about identity and a little bit about me.
mixed media collage thing in reference to a poem i wrote a year ago.
i also keep losing my passport/identity card and every single time i renew it i use a new photo, i guess i feel like i change a lot.
poem is below if u wanna read it!
Walls don’t make sound.
Walls don’t make sound like they did before.
I heard those neighbours moved out in early December With two small kids swallowed up in matching red coats.
A place they haven’t yet seen but have only heard of.
And I never wished them farewell at the end of the day, I stood watching a taxi drive away from my bedroom window,
Thinking how I always wanted to get closer.
Through thin walls I would hear them talking
Of a future I wished for;
Where forests were real and grandparents near
And now it is quiet.
So, I started counting days till birthdays and holidays But nobody ever called, and I swallowed my pride,
As a twelve-year-old girl.
Time stood still till March, aware of my foreign identity.
