The figure is a hyperrealistic sculpture titled The Traveler, created by American artist Duane Hanson and installed at Orlando International Airport in 1985. Hanson was known for life-sized works depicting everyday people, using materials like polychrome bronze, real clothing, and accessories to create an almost photographic illusion of reality. 
The piece is part of the airport’s public art collection and is intentionally designed to look indistinguishable from a real person, often causing travelers to stop or double-take. It’s now displayed in a glass case to protect it, after years of visitors interacting with it due to how convincingly lifelike it appears.
