hey! long time, no see 😂
took a lil social media break over January, but tonight I saw @hadestown and was inspired to record my interpretation of Orpheus’s song.
ended 2022 on a high note, playing with the George Martins at Music Box. I also started the new year on a high, getting to play for a private party (with my first ever trio booking!)
2022 gave me a lot, and I’m thankful for it all. Here’s to 2023 and all the opportunities it has in store for me 🖤🥂✨
there’s a joke that musicians only know how to count to 4…. and this bit is (mostly) in (the equivalent of) 5
They also say that music is a universal language… but this is based on a tala (rhythm pattern) and thaat (scaler mode) things “Western” musicians are never taught in music school
It’s just really cool and I’m enjoying working my brain in a different way, and honestly having a blast playing this lick now
