Team Grumblo went to conquer Asfalttikunkku, the biggest race in Finland with an unorthodox widebody mid-engine E46. 1317 participants battled in 7-car dogfight battles for 4 full days to find winners in different categories around the Kemora Circuit.
Our CEO @markusmartelius piloted two categories. In the EVK category a heavy contact and puncture ended his race in the quarter finals. In the general category Markus advanced to the finals day with ease, climbing again until the quarter finals. Another competitor unfortunately did an illegal dive from outside the track course into the rear quarter of the E46, destroying the suspension and again ending Markus’ hopes of a finals position. ”My speed was better than ever and this was a disappointing way to end a 1.5-year project with this car”, he said.
5x Rally Cross European Champion @matti.alamaki starred in the senior category. A heroic drive put the 69-year old legend all the way to the A finals. There a desparate dive from a competitor caused a collition, dropping Matti from podium contention, ending at 5th.
@niemi.maiju a young crosskart & RX Supercar driver took on the female category and @vareoliver participated in the juniors. Both had misfortunes with small mechanical glitches and exited after 3 and 2 rounds respectively.
