This is a very special WSMT, and an emotional one at that. On June 28th 2024, we lost a true friend. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have met Dalton would know how real that kid was. If you think of Westside, Dalton and his green helmet were the first thing you thought of.
Westside was a second home for most of us as kids from when it opens in May and closes in the fall. This small, rec center ran skatepark has given me and so many others so many countless memories and lifelong friends. Daltons house was usually the chill spot all summer, and his family would graciously open their house up for a bunch of skate rat kids to hang at, and for that I can never thank him and his family enough.
On June 28th 2025, we were able to host a closed session at Westside in memory of one year since Daltons passing. To see the park packed full of homies was one of the most beautiful things to see. And all the homies that couldn't make it were there in spirit that day. The rain couldn't stop us that day haha
Thank you again for Daniel, Adam and Westside for setting this amazing day up and for making a plaque to memorialize Dalton for years to come.
