Sunday marked my 100th day as CEO of the
@gatesfoundation . To say that the first 100 days have been both a whirlwind and a little different would be a significant understatement. The foundation celebrated our 20th anniversary today at our annual employee meeting... via video conference call (pictured). I checked-in with our staff with three words to describe how I was feeling: inspired, exhausted, and proud. And as we weather this storm, many of us in different boats, I feel we are all three of those things together. Inspired at the grace, compassion, and humanity we witness each day. Exhausted by the reality of our everyday lives turned upside down. And proud of the impact we’re making in this world, sometimes, as Melinda said, just by looking out for each other.
