The first version of this song was written in 2014 with a friend & former band mate @_blakegardner
Blake had written a completely different structure to the song on guitar that I would never remember. I had written the words and would rewrite the song over time.
In the year 2024 this song was performed for the first time on stage at Spring Reunion with @freerangestrange (not knowing that would be FRS's last show at Suwannee....)
2 years later I would return to Suwannee with my new band Sunnyside Stringband.
We opened up the weekend with this being the first song on our set Saturday in the Music Hall.
And were more than HONORED to close the weekend out performing that #suwanneefamily song with Donna The Buffalo!
Thank you @taranevins & Jeb for inviting me and my band mates @markschimick & @alex_bazemore to share the stage with you.
It is magical and amazing that everything seems to come full circle at Suwannee in so many ways.
I have been a fan of Donna The Buffalo since I was 6 and I love getting to see them every year!
