Dėkojame antradienį susirinkusiems į pirmąjį programos „Laukų reikalai. Žinios be centro“ renginį! 💚 Thank you to everyone who joined us on Tuesday for the first event of the ‘Rural Matters. Decentered Knowledge’ programme! We were joined by special guests who shared their experiences of how much can be created and achieved through collective action and collaboration. Mark Rohtmaa-Jackson (@markpajackson ) introduced the artist-led LungA School (@lungaschool ) and spoke about what it means to learn together with both humans and more-than-human forms of life. Wapke Feenstra (@myvillages_rsoe ) presented a range of working methods that encourage more attentive ways of seeing and relating to the environments we inhabit. Following the presentations, Mark Rohtmaa-Jackson, Wapke Feenstra, Viktorija Šiaulytė (@siaulyteviktorija ), and Vytenis Burokas (@vytenisburokas ) came together for a discussion on self-organised and experimental initiatives. And, of course, during the breaks we enjoyed refreshments from the Pakruojis region. Thank you to Rupert (@rupert.vilnius ).

Rupert meno centre (@rupert.vilnius ). Visa programa – akee.lt 🌿 ‘Rural Matters. Decentered Knowledge’ will start from Mark Rohtmaa-Jackson’s (@markpajackson ) lecture ’Noise and Driftwood: ‘To Be’ Weeks and Radical Pedagogy at LungA School’. Mark Rohtmaa–Jackson is the Director of LungA School (@lungaschool ) in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. His practice spans roles as an artist, curator, administrator, and academic. In the lecture, you will learn what LungA School is and what makes this artist–initiated school, located in the small town of Seyðisfjörður in eastern Iceland, unique. The school’s director will talk about the LungA School experiment – the so–called ‘To Be’ weeks. These weeks reframe the usual ‘praxis’ weeks of the art programme by foregrounding a form of infra–productive being. They draw attention to practices of not knowing, disorientation, and indifferent ‘noise,’ opening up connections to what is often considered outside the school, as well as to conditions of emergence within the landscape. The event takes place at Rupert Art Center (@rupert.vilnius ) on 12 May. Find the full programme at akee.lt
