See that Gull - that’s me that is.
With the announcement today of the return of Humber Street Sesh on Hull Marina this summer, the floodgates have once again reopened with an unprecedented demand of requests to perform at the event.
I’m afraid, we’ve pretty much programmed the line up already. We’re working with those that have supported us over the last 8 months at Sesh, whilst inviting a few new faces from outside the city to the event.
So if you’re interested in getting involved in the future, the best thing you can do, is engage with us at the weekly Sesh night at The Polar Music Club every Tuesday on Springbank, Hull.
The weekly Sesh night is free entry and it hits its 25th Birthday next year.
We need your support every week, not just for one day in the summer.
We need you to get booked in with us to play the weekly night to be considered for HSS.
We’d love for you to attend Sesh on other weeks throughout the year too, supporting others on the scene, helping to build audiences and a community
for grassroots music.
We’d appreciate you keeping us abreast of your upcoming gigs and festivals that you’re playing,
.. and finally we’d love you to send us your demos and links to any releases so we can play them out and talk about you.
We’re here to help provide grassroot platforms and promote you.
That’s what we do.
As a footnote :
If you’re a grassroots emerging band or artist from outside the region, trust us, we’ll find you.
SUPPORT & ENGAGE … that’s all we ask.
UP THE GULLS …. And TIGERS
See you at Sesh next Tuesday x
MAY’s looking pretty tasty at the weekly Sesh night at the Polar Bear Music Club with four great line ups featuring regional and national grassroot bands.
With Guest DJs every week following the bands into the wee small hours and Pizza courtesy of Dough Punks in the Beer Garden.

Wish I’d asked Dan for more videos of all three acts at Sesh last night. Loved all three sets.
Really impressed with these ‘guys’, our special guests The New Cut from Bristol who’d been on a mini northern tour.
We’ve been playing them for months on the playlist and it was so good to finally get them to Hull.
Definitely ones to watch out for over the festival season this summer.
It was one of our favourite line ups of the year so far at Sesh last night at the Polar Bear Music Club.
Grassroots music at its best with a selection of Art Rock, Post Punk Indie and Psych Rock from acts coming out of Hull, Bristol and Scarborough.
Three ace sets from Femur, The New Cut and Evil Will Prevail, alongside a wicked Aftershow DJ set from Danny from ‘Portable Memory Of’ and some awesome pizza from Dough Punks in the beer garden, ensured everyone went home happy.
Cheers all. Thanks for the support last night.
Let’s do it again next week.
