i knew this day would come. when i have to come clean and stop hiding...  for the longest time, i have heard the sounds of crustaceans clicking in my brain. at first i though i was going crazy, but soon i realized they were actually sending me messages from the deep. these messages guided me to an undisclosed location where, on midsummer's eve, a massive, powerful and ancient lobster emerged from the ocean 🌊 since then, i have been under his rule, doing tasks in his name. i cannot resist it anymore. i am dedicating my life to the one, ultimate, imminent truth: 𝗟𝗼𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵🦞 join me in the transition. join the order of the lobster. 👁️ follow @thelobstercult ▫️ @designmarch #lobster #reykjavik #iceland

backstage footage from my performance 𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴 last friday, pouring ice cold water on my amazingly brave models just moments before the show. as in many of my previous performances, i wanted all the models to be soaking wet on the runway — an element i use a lot in my work because of its versatile and subjective symbolism. i often use water as a ritualistic material for purification, but in this piece it also dissolved solidity of the physical, and presented deep biological fragility — humans emerging wet like newborns, as metaphors for creatures suffering from misery, from flood and climate collapse. a sense of arduous despair within the otherwise cathartic act of cleansing. in a sense, the cleansing in 'kenosis' , isn’t cathartic — it’s anti-cathartic. it mimics the gesture of purification but denies its resolution — instead inviting crisis and futility. the ritual is performed, but nothing is healed. in the end, the water was nothing but more of nothing. ▫️ kenosis by @markosvart thank you to my lovely models : @oskbingxinragnars @svavabernhoft @elisamariajons @fridrikberg @axel_noi @antoneinarm @hugi_einarsson @elizabetkkostova hair, makeup and assistance @mua.kalli @ray.makeupart @ronja_nemunemu video by @pestkowelove for @erlendurfashionweekiceland
