After a turbulent week in Westminster, it’s good to be home.

I promised Cody, Liam and Zoe that I wouldn’t stop working to regulate the funeral sector so that what happened to their babies never happens to anyone again.
Today, I brought together leading operators, representatives and professionals from right across the sector to discuss what regulation should look like, what principles should govern its creation and how new rules should be enforced.
Thank you so much to everyone who contributed, it was incredibly helpful. We are taking all of our findings to Government as we continue this essential work.

🇬🇧 Well done to Morley Elderly Action for a fantastic VE Day celebration at East Ardsley Community Centre.
It was clear from everyone I spoke to how much they valued the team’s work. It was an excellent event.
As we mark the 81st anniversary of VE Day, we should always remember the courage and sacrifice of those who brought peace back to Europe.

Push For Paternity!
Wonderful to be invited by Leeds Dads to address the paternity demo outside Civic Hall.
I’ve continued to call for better paternity leave and pay in Parliament. The case is so strong that many employers already offer it. It’s time to make the offer universal.
The Government’s consultation ends this year and it’s important that MPs act on the findings quickly. Until then, we’ll continue to make the case that 2 weeks is not enough.
