Had the best day in the studio! Just having fun really, but it’s shaping up to be a great start to a new MES record! A new batch of songs with an amazing studio band consisting of Ken Coomer, Matt Ross-Spang, Tony Thomas, Landon Moore, & Logan Hanna. We even cut, “God Is A Mystery (We Don’t Know Shit)” cuz we don’t. Again, just having fun. Stay tuned!🤘🏻😂❤️🇺🇸

Lost both my parents in February. 15 years apart. What now? I sorta feel like an orphan at 52, but I know that’s silly. I was surrounded by love, “oceans of love” as my mom would say. Every good quality I have as a human came from my mother, except my sense of humor. That’s 100% Dad. Found this picture last week, never seen it. THIS is how I will always remember my parents.❤️
I got this tattoo a few years ago. Her signature. She had the prettiest handwriting. I never posted it on FB ‘cuz I didn’t want her to see it. Even at 50 years old, I was afraid of getting into trouble. I was her baby boy. My wife said my voice would change when talking to my mom. Guess that kinda stuff never goes away.
Now I’m wishing I would’ve shown this to my mom. Maybe she would’ve liked it? At least she would’ve known how much she meant to me, and how much I loved her. I have regrets, I’m actually having lots of regrets. Grief has fully kicked in today. I’m a mess, or as she would say, “but you’re my little mess…” M.E.S. Yup, she named me and now I have her beautiful name on me for life. Regrets? None.
p.s. Thanks for all the kind words and condolences. I’ve read every single one. I tried to like ‘em all but my thumbs got tired, ha. I’m lucky and beyond blessed to have such an amazing tribe of people.🙏🏽❤️
Had the best day in the studio! The magnificent Tony Thomas and Ken Coomer. Ken played in two of my favorite bands ever. Uncle Tupelo & Wilco. My 21 year old self wept while 51 year old me played it cooool. Thx Matt Boss-Spang for putting all this together and being awesome.🤘🏻
