so last week this young man made me a grandpa.
@sarahsmokerr & @reagansmoker_11 welcomed
Silas Charles @ 10:11 on September 17th.
Honored to be their parents and his grandfather.
Love you Charlie. You put a smile on my face.
I got a new lens for my birthday so I threw it over my shoulder this morning and went out to ride. As I wound thru the hills I came across the farm where my grandmother grew up.
I wanted to take a photo of the driveway & it just felt like my bike should be a part of it. I often think of my great grandfather who farmed this land and wonder what he would have thought if he could see his great grandson riding over these hills on a motorcycle with a camera slung over his shoulder.
Grateful for the family that came from the little farmhouse down that driveway & the path that my grandmother chose to walk.
grateful for the promise of Springtime
& a daughter who will still come and pry me away from my screen when there is a rainbow in the middle of the storm.
I was in Pittsburgh last week photographing for a client & working with friends. I was heading home early the next morning and it just didn’t feel right to drive past all of this at sunrise. so I found a parking spot and walked around for an hour. it was a little chilly but I’m glad I stopped. I love walking thru the city while most of it is still asleep.
I had a shoot get postponed this morning and I just kept thinking about how I love walking around this place when it snows. So I drove downtown with my camera and pretended like I was in a city I didn’t know.
Grateful for snow days & the perspective that Winter brings.
last year on a cold February day I decided it was time for a new camera. So I drove to Allen’s Camera and pulled the trigger on a Nikon Zf. From there I headed to Philly. I love shooting black and white with this camera and the little 26mm pancake that I couldn’t resist.
Here are a few of my favorites from my walk around Fishtown that day.
It seems like I forget it at times. but the fact remains, when I am at rest I get up & go for a walk at sunrise & I take photos.
grateful for this place today.
@mosesbuckwalter spent the last couple of nights in our garage wrenching on his bike. he wrapped it up a half hour before sunset and we made it to the river just in time.
nice work man. excited to ride again.
