We have a change to the 9th Anniversary session of EASE YOUR MIND, sadly Yogi Haughton is unable to join us due to his car braking down last night on the Scottish Borders on his way to Banbury.
I spoke to Yogi late last night, he is absolutely gutted that he is unable to play at our anniversary session, he sends his apologies to everyone.
We know that everyone looks forward to a visit from Yogi because it's always a bit special but we guarentee we will get Yogi back to EASE YOUR MIND next year, that's a promise!
Huge thanks to Jamie Taylor, a DJ that needs no introduction for stepping in and completing the line up.
Come join us as we celebrate 9 years of EASE YOUR MIND with Front of House Rachel John alongside residents Michael Gudge, Nick Topsey Turvey, Mark Blee, Paul Garland and our special guest Jamie Taylor for another afternoon of adult beverages, fantastic food and darn good music!
Yogi Haughton is a pioneering DJ, promoter, journalist and broadcaster, widely regarded as one of the key figures responsible for introducing house and techno music to Scotland in the midâ1980s. Originally from Manchester and later based in Scotland, Haughtonâs career spans more than four decades and encompasses northern soul, rare soul, jazz, disco, funk, house and techno, underpinned by a lifelong dedication to Black music and vinyl culture.
After emerging from the northern soul scene in England, Yogi relocated to Scotland at a crucial moment in the development of its underground nightlife. He became part of the first wave of resident DJs at Glasgowâs Sub Club following its opening, a venue now recognised internationally as one of the worldâs most influential nightclubs. Alongside this, he also held formative residencies at Hoochie Coochie in Edinburgh and Club 9 in Motherwell, helping to lay the foundations for Scotlandâs modern club culture.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Haughton was closely associated with the emergence of UK acid house and early techno, and played a significant role in spreading these sounds beyond London and Manchester. He was also active in the Warp Records âbleepâ era, regularly DJing alongside artists such as Nightmares On Wax, Unique 3 and Winston Hazel during the early 90s, positioning him at the heart of one of the UKâs most distinctive electronic movements.
In addition to his club work, Yogi Haughton is a veteran of UK soul and dance weekenders, including events at Southport and Prestatyn, and is the founder of the highly regarded Scottish Soulful Weekender, which has become a focal point for collectors, dancers and selectors from across the UK and Europe. His reputation as a DJ is built not on trends, but on deep musical knowledge, impeccable selection and an ability to adapt seamlessly across genres and dance floors.

Next weekend we celebrate 9 years of bringing something different to the Shire.
It gives us great pleasure to be able to welcome back Yogi Haughton to EASE YOUR MIND in the Berkeley Bar at the Whately Hall Hotel.
From our very first guest DJ, Eddie Hubbard to our latest guest Yogi Haughton, the message has always been the same.
"It's your set, you play whatever you want to play!"
Over those 9 years we have been joined by some of the most influential DJ's in the UK!
We've heard sets that have been inspiring, we've heard the very rarest of vinyl, we've heard the most expensive of vinyl and even Bruce Forsyth has been played!
But the ethos of EASE YOUR MIND has remained the same since day one!
It's never been about playing the same old tired boring tracks, it was never about packing the venue to the rafters with people, it was never about making loads of money from EYM.
It has only ever been about bringing something different to the Shire, giving people somewhere to go to enjoy adult beverages, fantastic food and darn good music!
And i think that's what we have achieved!
Come join the EASE YOUR MIND front of house Rachel John, alongside residents Michael Gudge, Nick Topsey Turvey, Mark Blee, Paul Garland and our very special guest Yogi Haughton next Sunday for another afternoon of adult beverages, fantastic food, darn good music and birthday cake!

I've been playing some music this afternoon, all of a sudden my neighbour is hammering and hammering on my front door, he shouts through the letter box at the top of his voice.
"Haven't you got respect?"
I replied "Only on a reissue but I don't do requests"
Bah dum tish!
Where ever your travels take you today, whether it be the Philly celebration, Dingwalls with Gilles and Patrick, Out To Lunch or anywhere else have fun and make memories!
