When I grew up in the projects in Brooklyn, bangers and shooters used to come to my floor to smoke weed, drink 40s and listen to me and my brother and sisters practice Beethoven, Bach and Brahms. That’s how I knew music was universal, like seeing my heroes Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg bop to Beethoven!!! I’m a piano playing poet from the projects. I do Bach with Yo Yo Ma and rap with Black Thought.
