You better get used to seeing the kids face! We’re so excited! Amy and I welcomed our first grandchild! Last Friday, little Opal Eloise was born healthy and plump. My daughter Izzy is recovering well and her husband has mastered diapered changing and making swaddles. Oh and in case you’re wondering, Amy and I have chosen the grandparent names of Gamma (Amy) and Pep Pep! (Me)
Big weekend of running! I headed back to Lake Martin to support Ryan Crisco, an athlete I’ve been coaching through his 100-mile journey. A lot can go wrong over a hundred miles and being able all the challenges thrown at you is crucial. Ryan trained hard for months—not just physically, but mentally, logistically, and yes, even stomach-wise. And he nailed every part of it. I don’t think he missed a single workout and I know he NEVER complained. (even though probably should’ve)
Race day was unusually hot and humid. There were A LOT of DNF’s (Did Not Finish) mainly due to the conditions. He was prepared, ran smart and was able to keep moving forward all day.
The final 6 miles? Brutal—hilly, technical, and made worse by torrential rain, wind, and lightning. But he powered through and sprinted the last stretch like it was a 5K, crossing the line with a smile and locking in 3rd place.
It’s fair to say that he made it a team effort. Greg Schnoor joined in to pace him on the back half of the course. And Ryan’s family were there with their support and positivity to keep him moving forward.
Well done, sir. It was truly an honor to be a part of it all. Wear that shiny buckle with pride. You earned it. 👊

Dinkville 2024 Christmas at the Riggs house! This town has it all! It has a Miss Piggy riding pigs, a wheel steeling Joker, A Santa with issues, Astronauts, A giant Santa driven robot decorating a tree, and much more! Seriously, it’s kinda out of hand.
One of the best things about running is making lots of awesome friends! Today one of my running friends, who happens to be a part of the Blue Angle crew, got me and another friend front row seats to watch the practice show and a personal tour of the facilities.
