Consider outdoor living not as a seasonal expression, but as an integral part of Australian life - where design, landscape and object converge.
Mark Tuckey presents The Great Outdoors as part of Melbourne Design Week 2026, marking the tenth year of the festival and honouring a legacy of Australian design. Experience the new outdoor range immersed within a living understory environment, where furniture and flora exist in dialogue.
Curated in collaboration with Eckersley Garden Architecture, the planting draws on layered ecologies that sustain the very species from which the furniture is made - ground covers, shrubs and soil systems that enable native hardwood forests to regenerate and thrive. The display connects object to origin, framing the collection within a broader narrative of material lifecycle and stewardship.
Defined by material honesty, local production, environmental responsiveness and an enduring connection to place, The Great Outdoors shapes how we recharge, gather and dwell - grounded in Australian living and landscape.

The Great Outdoors reflects a slower, more considered approach to outdoor living - one grounded in honest materials, local production, and environmental responsiveness.
Bringing together seating, dining and occasional pieces for residential and commercial settings, the collection is crafted from reclaimed and sustainably managed Australian hardwoods, celebrating the natural density, grain and variation of solid timber.
Join us at our Thornbury workshop, as we preview the range immersed within a living understory environment, created in collaboration with Eckersley Garden Architecture.
