I'VE WANTED TO TRY THIS FOR 25 YEARS! 🎃
Ever since I first heard that the original Michael Myers mask was a converted William Shatner mask, I've been fascinated by the process. So seemingly simple with a terrifying result. I wanted to make one for myself. I found a Shatner mask reproduction (TOTS 75K, if you're nasty) online and went to work.
It took me WAAAAY longer than I expected to complete this because I was being unnecessarily precious. Typical. But I wanted to do right by Michael Myers (and original Production Designer Tommy Lee Wallace). I'm thrilled with how it turned out and it feels nice to bring a childhood dream to life as an adult.
