Thirty years ago this month, @renzograciebjj opened the doors in New York City on W27th. @renzogracieacademy I was one of the first to walk through them. What Renzo built was never about one person. It was about The Team. Nearly 400 academies across every continent — that doesn’t happen through individual ambition. It happens when people trust each other completely. When your teammate’s growth matters as much as your own. When you show up not just to get better but to make everyone around you better. That’s the principle that built this. The principle that Renzo taught us.No one rises alone. You drill with your partner. You sharpen each other. You carry each other through the grind. Every academy we’ve opened exists because someone believed in the person next to them enough to build something together. Over the past 30 years We have seen teams / fight empires rise, and fall. We have studied the patterns of existence. Selfishness doesn’t survive on the mat. Only unity does. One team. One mission. Thirty years strong and we’re just getting started. Oss. #TeamRenzoGracie #RenzoGracie #30Years

Jiu Jitsu offers more than just physical training; it provides life lessons essential for navigating the complexities of the world. Here’s a brief overview of some critical skills learned through Jiu Jitsu: 1. šŸ”µLearning to Lose: Understanding and accepting defeat is crucial. Jiu Jitsu teaches that tapping out is a lesson in humility and resilience, serving as a counter to the ā€˜I never lose’ mindset. This skill is foundational for personal growth and success. 2. šŸ”µLearning to Win: With time and practice, you’ll start winning against those of lower ranks. This progression teaches the importance of modesty in victory, recognizing your past struggles in others, and acknowledging the continuous journey of improvement. 3. šŸ”µStrategizing: Advancing in Jiu Jitsu requires the ability to strategize—defending against higher-ranked opponents and seizing opportunities to attack. This involves creating plans to exploit vulnerabilities, a skill applicable in many life situations. 4. šŸ”µHumility: Progressing through the ranks, you’ll realize your capabilities but also recognize the vast and more skilled community that exists. Encountering ā€˜great white sharks’ of the sport teaches humility, an essential trait for personal development. 5. šŸ”µLeadership: The journey through Jiu Jitsu, learning from failures and successes, positions you as a leader and role model, especially as a black belt. You become a symbol of strength, leadership, and a custodian of the sport for future generations. These lessons from Jiu Jitsu—dealing with loss, celebrating wins with humility, strategic thinking, embracing humility, and leading by example—are invaluable for personal and professional development. šŸ„‹ #JiuJitsu #BJJ #MartialArts #Leadership #Strategy #Humility #PersonalGrowth

Head Professor Mark Cerrone @mark_cerrone breaking down the details that make the difference. šŸ„‹šŸ”„ The grapevine mount brings maximum pressure and control, shutting down movement and forcing your opponent to carry your weight. The shin mount creates mobility, opening the door to submissions and smooth transitions. 🤼 Small adjustments. Big results. That’s the Renzo Gracie way, precision, pressure, and purpose. šŸ™ŒšŸ¼šŸ’„ #RenzoGracie #RGAMilford #BJJ #BrazilianJiuJitsu #BJJTraining

Low Mount Control Details šŸ”’ Head Professor Mark @mark_cerrone shows how controlling the low mount by keeping your legs crossed underneath your opponent’s legs can shut down their ability to bridge and sneak their knees back inside. šŸ”„šŸ¤¼ When the bottom player can’t create space, they can’t recover guard. Maintaining tight pressure, staying connected, and controlling the hips allows you to stay one step ahead and keep dominant position.šŸ™ŒšŸ¼šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ #RenzoGracie #BJJ #LowMount #BJJTechnique #JiuJitsuDetails
