Studer A80. This is a beast. The unit is 70x60x84 cm, and is the size of a washing machine. And it weighs around 100kg. That is even heavier than a washing machine. It has wheels, though. So you can roll it around.

Slave to the Rhythm 🎶 We at Mark1ProAudio had the privilege of restoring Trevor Horn’s historic SSL SL4048E+G mixing desk some years ago, the same console behind hits like “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” “Relax,” “Careless Whisper,” and “Kiss from a Rose.” This mighty desk from Sarm West Studio 2 features 48 channels, true total recall, BBC-spec PPM VU meters, an extensive patch-bay, remote AMS and EMT controls, test jig, all the drives, and a serious kit of spares and manuals.
Every fader and module got attention, right down to the details like LED meter bridge lamps and a TFT internal screen. The Mark1 team ensured all mods and the original character were preserved, ready for modern sessions.
It’s almost historical to see a console with this kind of story become available. The auction has passed, but the console is still available (!). We acquired this legendary and marvellous Neve 8128 from one of the most iconic recording studios in Wales. It's now in our workshop, undergoing inspection and receiving some TLC before being installed in its new home.

How to bring a Neve 88RS into a studio? This stunning mixing console has found a new home at the beautiful @klangfabrik.studios in Frankfurt. All switches have been replaced, all LEDs swapped out, the unit has been fully recapped, and all faders cleaned. I'm very proud of this project. I'm super happy that this 88RS has found a new place. Thanks to our team for making it possible.
Next in line: another Neve 88RS and a Neve 8128.

Earlier this month, we delivered and installed another SSL console, a fully refurbished SSL 4000G+ for PÜR Residential Recording Studios in Cunda, Turkey. Logistics are part of our service; transporting large-format consoles is our speciality. Our team members, Ferrie and Frank, handled the unpacking of the delivery and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and food in the meantime. The desk features several of our custom-designed addons, including:
48-channel loaded 4000G+,
Remote patch system,
AIM, our DAW mixing desk interface,
Moving faders via Fadermate,
DRY/WET modification in each channel’s dynamics section,
Key/sidechain input for the master bus compressor.
