Deep deep gratitude to @mashpilodge for hosting our film shoot in the cloud forest of the Mashpi Nature Reserve last week💫🇪🇨.
Based in Ecuador where the equator meets the Andes, Mashpi is an expedition hotel and biodiversity research station dedicated to rainforest conservation where you can explore the lungs of our planet! In an untouched world under threat, it’s an amazing gateway and an incredible caring mission🙌🏽❤️
#IAmNotTheLast
Dylan turned 18 recently and we dropped him off at university this week. As a Brit in the US, one of my biggest fears about becoming a dad was whether or not he would like soccer. But our backyard kickabouts were serious and I loved them. I miss him but we have those and they’ll always be our thing!🙌🏽❤️
The Treasure Beach coast is mellow even for Jamaica. First time venturing to the most isolated corner of the country where the legends among us could kick back in peace. Learned the hard way why it’s so quiet there: the "roads” disappear!
We went into the mountains last week. Jamaica was the largest coffee producer in the world until slavery was abolished in 1838 and newly freed farmers began living off the land instead. With the industry in disarray, instructors were sent out to teach local farmers the art of cultivating coffee.
So cool to see that even today, local growers across the Blue Mountains — like Mr Dennis here — still harvest the beans by hand. The beans are sun dried, pressed with wooden mortar & pestle, then roasted over a smoky wood fire. A real smooth roast, mild not bitter like some (looking at you Seattle & Portland!). Like all Blue Mountain coffee, 85% of Mr Dennis' crop is exported to Japan. The rest is claimed by Jamaican family reunion 2022!
We adopted a couple fur ball freeloaders! Big kudos and gratitude to the indomitable Katya & Stephanie who run @meowsquad.nyc , a non-profit that does a fantastic job saving cats on the streets of Queens & Brooklyn
