Today l lost the greatest love that ever walked on four legs, After selflessly giving love and affection for 14 years Tabitha has reached the point where her little body could give no more. She has gone into The Big Sleep. She leapt up onto my lap yesterday and soaked up all the love l could possibly give and that l so gratefully received. I couldn’t know then that she was saying goodbye. No more to be greeted at the door when l come home, no more to be nuzzled up to in bed where l could sleep in the peaceful knowledge that my dear ones were safe. It is no wonder that we love our little angels so much, the unconditional love they so willingly give is beyond price. Sleep well my darling little angel there is a cat-shaped space in my heart that will always house the love we so sweetly shared. You are a wonderful chapter in our lives, for you we were the entire book. All our boundless love Deb, Dash and Mark.Xxx

This work draws on the symbolic logic of flowers within fairy tales, as stated in Bruno Bettelheim’s book “The Uses of Enchantment” where they operate as thresholds through which desire, vulnerability, and transformation are staged. Reconstructed through still life, the flower becomes a mediated object, suspended between organic form and artificial permanence. No longer subject to growth or decay, these forms resist the temporal cycles traditionally embedded in such imagery. Instead, they occupy a state of arrested becoming, where beauty persists beyond its natural limits. This suspension disrupts the developmental narratives associated with flowering, replacing them with a condition of stasis and estrangement. The image no longer refers back to nature as origin, but produces a self-contained surface in which representation becomes unstable, and meaning remains contingent and unresolved. #analogphotograrphy #stilllife #stilllifephotography #fineartphotography #constructedimage

The Red Shoes A vain girl is given a pair of red shoes fit for a princess by her adoptive mother. After her adoptive mother becomes ill and dies, the girl doesn’t attend her funeral, choosing to go to a dance instead. But the red shoes take control and she is unable to stop dancing. An angel appears to her and condemns her to dance even after she dies, as a warning to vain children everywhere. She begs for mercy, but the red shoes take her away before she hears the angel’s reply. The girl finds an executioner and asks him to chop off her feet. He does so; however, the shoes continue to dance, even with Karen’s amputated feet inside them. #AIassitedphotography #fineartphotography #constructedimage #stagedphotography #postphotographic
