In Puglia, beauty is a habit — a personal project for @italysegreta , written by Ludovica Forte (@contradacinera )
Last year in May while strolling through some of Puglia’s coastal towns, the realization dawned on me that this is a short time window when residents have their towns and beaches mostly to themselves. I occasionally found myself stopping to chat, bridging the gap between my patchy Italian and my desire to hear their stories.
This personal project is an ode to Puglia and its kind ambassadors, brought to life in collaboration with Ludovica & Stefano (@contradacinera ).
✨ Interview — Marit Simons ✨
There’s a quiet elegance running through the photographs of Marit Simons (@maritsimons ) an Amsterdam-based artist whose lens bridges fashion, architecture, and still life with an instinctive sense of balance.
Rooted in her background in fashion, Marit’s images unfold with a refined calm — where light, geometry, and imperfection meet. Whether she’s framing the desolate beauty of a Portuguese coastline or the quiet rhythm of a still life, her work evokes a timeless sense of honesty and restraint.
Guided by natural light and an eye for subtle emotion, her photography reflects a philosophy of imperfect beauty — finding poetry in what’s already there.
The result is a visual language that feels contemplative and tactile, like a memory gently resurfacing. 🌿

„Light is of course everything in both architecture and photography and I really enjoy playing with it like a kind of chiaroscuro, to give depth and mood to the images. It also shows objects and spaces are never static. You change one thing and the whole mood changes.“
We spoke with Amsterdam-based photographer Marit Simons, whose work we’ve long admired for its emotional depth and atmospheric quality. We talked to her about how she developed her style, her thoughts on AI, and what’s currently inspiring her.
