I’m back, allow me reintroduce myself. 🙂
I learned a new word this week: matrescence. And I can’t believe I’d never heard it before.
It means: the transition into motherhood. An identity shift. A physical, emotional, hormonal, psychological, social transformation.
Basically… motherhood is a second puberty.
No wonder it feels like everything changes.
If someone had told me this earlier, I think I would’ve been a lot gentler with myself.
So I guess I didn’t disappear? Maybe I was becoming?
Motherhood changed everything. It cracked me open. It stripped me down. It rebuilt me differently.
A lot is about to change around here. If you still relate — stay.
Did you become a mother and feel like everything shifted? How long did it take until you did something just for you again? What did the identity shift do to you? What changed the most in your life?

This is a letter your child will write in 2040. 💌
If nothing changes.

SEO / „A Letter From Your Child. Written in 2040.“
What if your child could write you a letter from the future — and tell you what it felt like to grow up online without ever being asked?
This carousel is that letter.
I created @pausebeforeposting because I believe most parents — myself included — never meant any harm. We posted out of love. Out of pride. Out of joy. Because mom life is beautiful and we wanted to share it. But the internet doesn’t care about our intentions. It only stores the data.
Sharenting is the new normal. But most parents don’t know the risks. By the time a child starts school, an average of 1,500 photos of them have already been shared on social media. Without their consent. Before they could even read.
Kids online safety isn’t just about screen time limits or parental controls. It’s about what we post before our children can speak for themselves. It’s about digital footprint, children’s privacy, and child identity protection — the right to a story that belongs to them, not to an algorithm.
By the time AI could recreate a child’s face from just 3 publicly posted images, those images were already out there. Posted by a parent on their mom journey. That’s not a future threat. That’s happening now.
Internet safety for kids starts before they’re old enough to have a phone. It starts in the newborn photos. The bath videos. The first day of school posts. Every tag. Every location. Every time we share without a second thought.
This motherhood season is precious. Document it. Celebrate it. Share it. But you can share every milestone, every laugh, every proud moment — without exposing your child’s face to a world you cannot fully control.
Child protection online begins with conscious parenting. With mindful sharenting. With knowing that your child’s digital identity is being built right now — and deciding who gets to write it. Their story belongs to them. Pause before you post. 🔒
10 poses that prove
you don’t need to show your child’s face
to show love and connection.

Why? 👀

SEO | @pausebeforeposting That’s where we translate uncomfortable realities into clear visual content and fact-based awareness - helping parents make more conscious decisions about what we share of our children online. 🤍 Raising awareness about digital child safety, mindful sharenting, parenting in the digital age, kids’ privacy online, children on social media, kids’ digital footprints, parental responsibility online, and the real risks of child exploitation in the age of the internet. 🛡️
Conversations around cases like the Epstein files remind us that exploitation networks exist - online and offline. Which is why protecting children’s privacy online matters more than ever. Because the internet never forgets.
I know this will cost me followers. 💔
But it still needs to be said:
Your child’s face doesn’t belong to the internet.
If this makes you uncomfortable, good 👍🏼
That’s awareness doing its job.
For those who stay and are ready to face the reality →

I’ve spent a decade online → sharing my life and building a career on the internet. 💫
But becoming a mom forced me to ask questions I couldn’t ignore anymore:
What happens to the images we post of our children? Who saves them> and why? Where do they travel?
What kind of digital identity are we creating for them before they can even speak for themselves?
A life online they never chose? ⚠️
Children deserve a childhood that belongs to them → not to the internet. 🤚🏼
Right now I’m building. Quietly. Obsessively. Something I hope to share with you later this year.
Until then, follow along at @pausebeforeposting
