Join us tomorrow for a public artist talk by 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗷𝗼𝗹 which will take place at 𝗞𝗮𝗳𝗸á𝗿𝗻𝗮 – 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗠𝗣𝗥𝗨𝗠. The event is organised in collaboration with Fine Arts I and the Visiting Artist Studio.
The talk and subsequent discussion will be held in English. Admission is free.
*𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗷𝗼𝗹 is currently on a forest residency in the Orlické Mountains as part of the 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩: 𝙄𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩.
𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗷𝗼𝗹 is dedicated to designing, rehearsing, practicing and impulsing pathways of resilience through cultural and communitary spaces that link, amplify and bring closer human relationships with nature. their research field and expression circle around the growth of networks between land-based ecologies, spirituality & art.

o brzkém ránu sedáme do auta, vyrážíme na sever na úpatí Orlických hor na luční kopec za rybníkem nedaleko Hnátnic. je deštivo, nevlídno. doprava nás brzdí a my nabíráme zpoždění. touhou dostat se na místo včas vymýšlím všelijaké kličky a zkratky, jen abychom dohnaly uniklé minuty. marně. nejprv končíme v zabláceným jézédečku. napodruhý nás zastavuje turistická značka se zákazem vjezdu. tyhle ty pokusy dohnání času nás zpomalily o dobrou půl hodinu. no nic, teď už opravdu pojedem tama, kude se má.
za deště šlapem lesem. vystoupáme na kopec, kde se objeví rozsáhlá louka s architektonicky zajímavým přístřeškem uprostřed.
nesměle kráčíme k němu, tam už nás s kávou v ruce vítá několik milých tváří a teplo velkého ohně.
seznamujeme se a už je jasné, že to bude zajímavý den. nalijem si kávu, čímž nervozita opadne.
zaujal mě dřevěný stůl prohýbající se pod kopou zeleniny. jsou tu dýně, celer, brambor, mrkve, řepy a jiné druhy zeleniny se zeleným listem. nechybí ani jablka, hrušky, sušené švestky, kysané zelí a šípky v octu. moc se mi líbí chlebová instalace - chleba na špalku připomínající velké houby.
po úvodu nynějšího rezidenta Maria dostáváme do ruky menu. a to mě hodně bavilo, byla to nálož inspirace.

řepy pečené v soli s jitrocelem kedlubnovým kysaným zelím, houby pampelišky a ovčí sýr
dušená pohanka s kořenem celeru
palačinky ze starodávné pšenice se švestkovým kompotem
…..
s nekonečnou fantazií se v neznámé dvojici pouštíme do příprav chodu z přítomných surovin pro ostatní. chystám po velké dýni a namočené pohance. mám ráda její vůni staří. za chvílu kotlík probublává, na dně kotlíku se nám připíká již rozvařená pohanka a navrchu se zlehka hřeje ještě syrová dýně.
nakonec usedáme k prostřenému stolu. každý sdílí svůj kuchařský um.

How has the original permaculture design of the garden evolved over time? What works, what doesn’t — and why?
With 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮, we’ll explore challenges and solutions in practice. With 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼, we’ll dive into imaginary landscapes of recipes and cultivation, design garden beds inspired by a seasonal menu, and cook together from local ingredients.
We’ll finish with the metabolism of compost 🌾

Arquitectura del jardí, paisatge i pensament: espais de creació i reflexió a Konvent.
Aquesta residència s’orienta a explorar la jardineria com una disciplina que transcendeix la pràctica hortícola per integrar-se en l’arquitectura, la planificació del paisatge i el pensament filosòfic. El jardí es concep com un espai de relació entre l’individu i l’entorn, un territori de recerca sobre la interacció entre estructura, matèria viva i dinàmica natural.
S’han escollit propostes de desenvolupament de projectes que aborden l’arquitectura del jardí i paisatge, des d’una perspectiva tan tècnica, com experimental i conceptual. S’hi han inclòs propostes que s’obrin a aspectes estructurals, compositius i filosòfics del paisatge, el disseny de sistemes vegetals i la seva implementació en entorns urbans i rurals.
L’objectiu és fomentar la recerca i el desenvolupament de nous models d’intervenció paisatgística i conceptual, tot afavorint el diàleg entre especialistes de diferents camps. Es vol propiciar un espai de treball que permeti aprofundir en els processos d’experimentació, disseny i execució de projectes relacionats amb el jardí com a estructura arquitectònica i com a fenomen cultural.

@rosetangy is a musician, multidisciplinary artivist and event curator who leads over 30 groups in New York and Seattle. Rose plays Weird Shit on piano, electric guitar, percussion, while also performing vocals, spoken word and movement. Her music has been released by NYC-based labels ESP-Disk’ and 577 Records. A Mongol from Sichuan, Rose’s first public music performance was conducting protest songs during the Tiananmen Movement in Beijing as a student leader. She's a survivor of Tiananmen Massacre.
She will collaborate with Konvent resident @marioframispujol , aka murmurio. An experimental resonance and land-based maker exploring consciousness through sound, nature, and collective listening. Rooted in electronic textures, field recordings, and intuitive composition, his work invites deep presence and connection to the body and the earth. Born in barcelona, murmurio creates cultural and communal spaces where art, ecology, and spirituality intersect. his music is a tool of resilience — a quiet rebellion — rehearsing ways of being that resist inertia and nourish networks of care.
