Hace 8 años aterricé en Alemania con una maleta de 23 kg, un préstamo del banco y el reto de construir algo. Hoy se publica la versión alemana de mi libro, que se basa en el estudio y el trabajo que pude realizar en este país. Todo el agradecimiento a mi familia, por su apoyo incondicional, y a mis amigos a ambos lados del Atlántico. Gracias a todos los que me han acompañado en este viaje.
Vor acht Jahren kam ich mit einem 23 Kilo schweren Koffer, einem Bankkredit und dem Ziel, etwas aufzubauen, in Deutschland an. Heute erscheint die deutsche Ausgabe meines Buches, das auf den Studien und der Arbeit basiert, die ich in diesem Land durchführen durfte. Mein ganzer Dank gilt meiner Familie für ihre bedingungslose Unterstützung sowie meinen Freunden auf beiden Seiten des Atlantiks. Danke an alle, die mich auf dieser Reise begleitet haben.

Ho Fan (1931-2016) was a Chinese photographer known for his black and white compositions. His work is a masterclass on visual narrative. In particular, his work from the 50’s and 60’s reminds us that photography lies in the beholder’s eye and not in the technicalities of a camera. It is all about perspective and waiting for the precise moment. Maybe not so well known as other western photographers, his work is most remarkable.
There is something magnetic about the photographs from Saul Leiter. His compositions, his pallet of colors, his visual narration. I just can’t take them out of my head. I would always return to them with the same amusement. This post is just to share them. For me, they represent the very act of creation and meaning.
