Happy International Womenâs: for all those incredible ladies out there - âDare to failâ.
My mantra all my life has been, in the words of Samuel Beckett - âEver tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again, Fail betterâ - the only way to succeed!

On our way down to Portal Point, the site of Wally Herbertâs hut, although only the foundations remain. He over wintered here with his team in 1957.
Very rarely did we take our masks and goggles off our faces: the masks protect the face/skin from the wind and cold and goggles protect the eyes from the intense glare of the sun.
For this photo taken by @caro.line.cote I did remove my mask. I cannot stop smiling at the beauty of the scene.
We all know to be truly happy you must be âpresentâ and focus on the ânowâ, not on the âpastâ or the âfutureâ. We were truly in the ânowâ at this magical moment. #adventure #polaradventure #wallyherbertpolarexplorer #womenadventurers #designbywomen
Driving the safety boat for the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club đđ°. This involves following the sail boats (big and small), rowing boats and outriggers around in case they have a problem, which they often do. The ocean is to be respected, things can change in a heart beat. A lot of fun and so good to spend days surrounded by the ocean and by nature.

So much fun and interesting driving a RIB boat around Hong Kong. One minute weaving around sampans, the old Hong Kong, the next, youâre staring up at super yachts, then it shifts again. Container ships loom like moving cities, stacked high with the worldâs cargo, turning the harbour into a living, breathing machine. And just when you think youâve seen it all, we came across a surreal, massive, almost life-size Noahâs Ark sitting out there like a storybook dropped into reality. All of it unfolds against that iconic skyline. Hong Kong is really quite surreal!

British Normandy Memorial (overlooking Gold beach) commemorating the 22,500 military personnel from 30 nations who died under British command on D-Day and during the battle of Normandy.
D-Dayâs scale and secrecy were truly astonishing. On June 6, 1944, Operation Overlord unleashed over 156,000 Allied troops across five Normandy beaches in the largest amphibious invasion ever, backed by 7,000 ships, 11,000 aircraft, and meticulous deception like Operation Fortitude, which fooled Hitler with fake armies and radio traffic into expecting an attack at Pas-de-Calais. This herculean feat of coordination and cloak-and-dagger intrigue turned the tide of World War II, liberating Europe through sheer audacity and precision.

Searching for a snow leopard, one of the most elusive animals on Earth known for its beauty, power, and ability to survive in some of the harshest and highest places in the world. It is perfectly camouflaged against the rocks and snow and often goes unseen even when itâs close by.
On our search in the deepest part of the Himalayas, we were led by Chosphel, the same guide who once helped the BBC and Sir David Attenborough film a snow leopard. Though we didnât see one ourselves, we found its paw prints and droppings, a thrilling sign that this mysterious cat was somewhere nearby.

An elephant is vast and mighty, yet it moves with calm grace, never flaunting its strength.
It reminds me how true power lies not in showing force, but in knowing when not to use it.
If only we, as human beings, could learn the sameâhow to hold power with gentleness and wisdom.

I always wanted to see and meet these amazing ladies!
Haenyeo, or âsea women,â are female free-divers from Jeju Island, South Korea, renowned for harvesting seafood like abalone, seaweed, and octopuses without oxygen tanks. Their tradition dates back centuries, with the first official records from 1629.
Haenyeo have developed genetic adaptations and can hold their breath for over three minutes at depths of up to 30 meters. Today, fewer than 4,000 remain, mostly elderly, as climate change warms waters and depleting resources deter the younger generations.

May we see peace in Ukraine đșđŠ and the wider world in 2026.
In an age where conflict can spiral faster than reason, the world needs wise leadership â not just powerful voices. Wisdom listens before it acts; it looks for what unites rather than divides. True leaders have the courage to set aside ego and imagine a future built on cooperation instead of control.

Lillehammer has a special kind of magic, the kind that feels both real and a little unreal at the same time. Once the host of the Winter Olympics in 1994, it still carries that feeling of celebration and possibility in the air. Skiing here with friends, surrounded by totally stunning nature, you feel the world open upâwhite hills, quiet forests, crisp air that fills your lungs and clears your mind. Itâs breathtakingly beautiful, and in those moments you feel happy, free, and a bit spiritual too, just grateful to be alive.
