Dinesen & Sanz Quartet er et spændende, nyt samarbejde mellem to førende kræfter i europæisk jazz med en topklasse rytme-gruppe. Saxofonist Jakob Dinesen og den spanske pianist Albert Sanz er begge kendt for deres passion for at skabe smuk, ny musik og for deres dybe rødder i traditionen.
ALBERT SANZ er en pianist og komponist med dyb følsomhed og rytmisk opfindelse, hvis arbejde danner en vital bro mellem den sofistikerede harmoni i moderne jazz og den dybe følelsesmæssige resonans i spansk musik. Med en karriere, der strækker sig over to årtier, kan hans samarbejder læses som en “who’s who” inden for jazz og flamenco, herunder Mark Turner, Al Foster, Jorge Pardo, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Javier Colina, Larry Grenadier og Kurt Rosenwinkel.
JAKOB DINESEN har spillet med eliten inden for jazz , pop and beyond i de sidste 30 år, bl.a. Hugo Rasmusssen, Thomas Helmig, Thomas Blachman, Kira Skov og utallige andre. “Dino” har vundet mange priser, herunder for sine udgivelser med internationale stjerner som Paul Motian, Jeff Tain Watts, Nasheet Waits, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Eddie Gomez, Ben Street og mange andre. Han betragtes som en jazzkunstner i verdensklasse i både moderne og traditionelle jazzkredse.
Felix Moseholm er en tre gange Grammy-nomineret bassist, bedst kendt for sit arbejde med Brad Mehldau, Samara Joy og Sean Mason. Efter at have etableret sig i Danmark flyttede Felix til New York i en alder af 18 år og uddannede sig på Berkley. Siden da har Felix turneret, optrådt og indspillet flittigt, senest med Brad Mehldaus Ride into the Sun (2025) og Isaiah Thompsons NPR Tiny Desk Concert.
Den danske trommeslager Martin Maretti Andersen medvirker på omkring 70 albums og arbejder med et bredt udvalg af kunstnere i Skandinavien og rundt om i Europa. En sand musikalsk dynamo bag trommerne med et usædvanligt ekspressivt spil. Som medlem af New Jungle Orchestra og Carsten Dahl Trio har han turneret og indspillet omfattende i hele Skandinavien samt i Spanien og Italien og har spillet og indspillet med en lang række internationale kunstnere.
"Lejos" es una canción de añoranza por mi pequeña familia, escrita durante una larga temporada sin verla. Escribir y cantar canciones nos ayuda a llevarlo mejor.
Quiero dedicarla a todas las familias desplazadas que, por mucho tiempo, viven sin la posibilidad de abrazarse y sentirse cerca.
Quiero destacar la implicación y emoción en cada nota que canta, en cada acompañamiento en el cello sobre mi solo de piano, la presencia de luz que tiene Sara Dowling. Sin ella y su generosidad y entrega no hubiera conseguido llevar adelante este disco, que también es suyo por eso.
Gracias a Martin y a Anders por coger la onda del tema y añadir siempre lo suyo.

Os comparto "Caminante", el tema que abre el disco, como no, con texto de Antonio Machado. En esta ocasión la música vino primero al componer y después apareció el texto como por arte de magia, queriendo posarse sobre la melodía, en una casualidad mágica e inevitable. Ahora ya no se pueden separar.
Fué muy inspirador la forma de acompañar mi solo ( y solear a la vez) por parte de AC Anders Christensen, con quién apenas había tocado antes del disco pero con quien sé que "caminamos" juntos disfrutando del paisaje en un viaje que no mira atrás. Ojalá podamos tocar más en el futuro. Es una persona llena de ternura, sensibilidad, inuición y experiencia.

Valencia, december 2025 – Albert Sanz presents “Cuando recordar no pueda” (When I no longer remember), a deeply moving piece that intertwines with the poem of the same name by the great Spanish poet, Antonio Machado. This release marks a tribute to Machado's immortal legacy on the 150th anniversary of his birth.
More than just a song, this work is an act of artistic resistance. Sanz composed it as a way to process the profound anguish and helplessness felt in the face of the genocide in Palestine. Through his music, he seeks a ray of light in the memory and dignity of every life that has been lost. The song explores the idea that memory is a tool for survival: how memories inhabit and endure, transcending through history and others.
With roots firmly planted in the Spanish poetic tradition and a contemporary jazz sensibility, Sanz builds a sonic atmosphere that is both solemn and hopeful. His music allows Machado's powerful words to resonate in the present in a raw and essential way, giving them new life.
“Cuando recordar no pueda” is a heartfelt tribute to the anonymous heroes—journalists, doctors, and ordinary citizens—who risk their lives to reveal the truth to the world. The song reminds us that in the act of remembering and refusing to forget lies our only collective salvation.

Muy feliz porque Hoy 19 de diciembre sale mi disco "Cuando recordar no pueda " y además mi hijo mayor Gaspar cumple 10 años!
Las fotos que veis aqui muestran la buena onda vivida en Copenhague en tan buena compañía y en un estudio tan maravilloso y en el fantástico @gaardenoggaden . Os animo a que lo escuchéis, de momento, en vuestra plataforma digital favorita.
Este es mi segundo disco de "cantautor de jazz" ( si es que existe esa etiqueta!) después de "la espuma del mar", en donde conté con Jorge Rossy, Borja Barrueta, Javier Colina, David Gadea y las colaboraciones de Sílvia Pérez Cruz y Antonio Serrano.
En este nuevo disco hay textos también de Machado y de mi hermana musical Sara Dowling , además de su voz, su cello y su emoción.
En el contrabajo está el gran Anders Christensen, con su profundidad, sencillez y escucha.
Martin Andersen ha hecho magia en la batería aportando fuego, color, calidez y delicadeza, mucha maestría querido amigo!
