Theater Laundering
In The Netherlands
Iran is back on our screens.
The images are already chosen.
The stories are already framed.
The emotions are already acceptable.
Before we react, we want to pause.
We are making a theater performance that doesn’t add another image, another opinion, or another ready-made emotion.
Instead, it looks at what happens to _ truth_ before it reaches us — how stories are shaped, selected, and made consumable.
This project is not about explaining Iran.
It’s about questioning the mechanisms that decide which pain travels, and which stays invisible.
For our upcoming open studio, we are asking for your presence and support because this work needs time, care, and independence.
Not to be louder — but to be precise.
Not to comfort — but to stay honest.
By supporting Theater Laundering, you help create a space where theater does not react fast, but thinks slowly.
Where spectators are not just moved — but implicated.
If this pause matters to you, stand with us.
