Preview of video made for "Green was the Color" by Maeve & Quinn with On-Set Assistance by @notnotgoth ~ see the full video at @maeveandquinnmusic
This video was the most challenging project I've completed to date, and not because of the wonderful Maris and Bryce (whom I want to thank endlessly for their patience, grace and kindness). This project showed me how little I knew about the software and hardware I use to make work & it really reinforced the sentiment that absolutely everything we do is a collaboration. Nothing is made in a vacuum. We require each other. There is no "from scratch", there are so many gratitudes to feel for so many minds behind each and every component of what we do.
& I learned SO MUCH (the hard way) as I determinedly buffooned my way to completing this video. The imagery was made in part with high resolution stop motion, a good deal of which was corrupted, unbeknownst to me, upon the very first export. If anyone wants to pick my brain for their video workstation, I have write-ups complete with references and workflow tips and, hopefully, I can help somebody avoid the same hard lessons I learned. Editing video requires so much and can be very daunting, but there are some ways to make it more affordable/accessible, easier and more intuitive.

Via @yalehaasartslib : Now that the sun sets before 5pm EST the Special Collections wanted to bring some bright rays to your feed. I Saw the Sun by musical artist and photographer Maren Celest (@marencelest ) highlights selections from 5 years' worth of writings, 35mm photographs, and music. In this clamshell edition made at Candor Collective (@collective_candor ) a vivid red 7” vinyl accompanies loose prints and a bound book offering words that “have been carefully shaped like knives —sharpened by humor and tempered by the urgency of mortality.”

@thegorounds put out a new single (the song is a RiiiIDE, lemme tell you) and you can get this poster I illustrated especially for the fearlessness of the sounds and lyrics of “Redbreast”.
there are only 9 posters and half the proceeds goes to LilSis.org (PAI) an org dedicated to revealing corruption, racism and environmental destruction perpetrated by corporations and politicians .

Happy Birthday to @n.ii.k.a !!
Full of firey gentleness. I’m so grateful we met years ago.
Please listen to her aptly named “Close but not too Close” album that dropped right before pandemic.
Her voice is hot magic. 🥵✨
This is a #4x5film double exposure that we made that appears on the back of her vinyl record.
This is a new birthday tradition I’m trying out so please don’t feel left out yet and I’m sure to miss some 😅
Nika is wearing a found bone as a crown and her two opposing faces merge into a slightly surreal version of her while the bone creates an open circle in black and white.
Real grateful this being got born
Love you @notnotsry , happy birthday. Thank you for showing up for me at the most crucial moments.
Diana stands in a field, mid movement into the wind and the dry grass runs around them, concentric and makes them the eye of a storm
One of the last portraits I got to make before the pandemic changed all - @newcanyons album, Heavy Water, came out today !! Congratulations on a badass album @newcanyons@feeltriprecords

The world is more and more often on fire. It's difficult to know where to start, I'd like to have a conversation with you, I'd like to see if we can love each other better. The most hopeful moments have been ones where I've been listening.
